Applelec partners with Just One Tree

As part of Applelec’s commitment to reducing environmental impact, we have partnered with Just One Tree, a non-profit organisation dedicated to global reforestation and biodiversity restoration. Their work supports carefully selected tree-planting initiatives worldwide, hiring and training local communities to restore native forests in areas severely affected by deforestation, such as Madagascar, Haiti, Indonesia, Mozambique, Nepal, Kenya, and Zambia. By planting in equatorial regions, these efforts have a greater cooling effect on the planet, helping combat climate change more effectively.

Reforestation doesn’t stop on land—Just One Tree is also pioneering kelp forest regeneration off the coasts of Australia and the Philippines. These marine ecosystems play a vital role in absorbing CO₂, restoring ocean biodiversity, and addressing rising sea temperatures. Additionally, Just One Tree provides environmental education in classrooms across the UK, Europe, and beyond, inspiring future generations to take action for the planet.

To launch our partnership, Applelec planted 100 trees in place of printed Christmas cards, a contribution that will, once matured, remove over 600 tonnes of carbon dioxide and absorb 230,000 gallons of rainwater.

Eco-Friendly Innovations at Applelec

Our sustainability efforts go beyond tree planting. Applelec is rapidly expanding its range of eco-conscious lighting and signage solutions, including the launch of Green Applelec LED Light Sheet—a UK-manufactured backlighting solution made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials. This innovation significantly reduces its carbon footprint, lowering its impact on CO₂ emissions, air acidification, and eutrophication.

Additionally, our signage division is developing eco-friendly material alternatives, set to launch throughout the coming year. To further support our sustainability mission, for every order placed from our eco-friendly product range, Applelec will plant a tree—ensuring that your choice of trade supplier actively contributes to global reforestation.
